PSUT has emerged in the past six years as a centre of excellence in ICT education, research and innovation and a model of the future university in Jordan. It was established in 1991 as a non-for profit academic arm of the Royal Scientific Society (RSS), which is considered as the only comprehensive applied research centre in Jordan. PSUT has a long track record in scientific cooperation with Europe in a number of FP7, Tempus and Erasmus Mundus projects and with close links with many European universities. PSUT strives to become a nucleus for a modern Jordanian knowledge industry, which actively animates the process of socio-economic and cultural development locally, regionally and globally. PSUT aims at supplying Jordanian, regional and global societies with technically and scientifically qualified ICT graduates and with solid applied research work. PSUT has been actively involved in the eLearning domain where it has led an initiative to promote online engineering in Jordan.

The University of Jordan was established in 1962, since then it has applied itself to research and community research knowledge. The University of Jordan offers 63 international programs at the undergraduate level, and 130 international programs at the graduate level in all field of specialization. It offers 30 doctoral programs and 81 master programs. The essential components of most of the programs offered are based on dialogue, applied research, creative thinking, field work, practical training, combined with modern teaching techniques. Since its establishment in 1974, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology has always strived for keeping up with the latest developments in energy applications. Recently, the The University of Jordan merged the Energy Center with water and environment center. It meant to be the source of knowledge and advanced technology in all forms and areas of energy and environment at all levels of national, regional and global. The center focuses on the themes of saving energy, renewable energies and the environmental impact.

Jordan University of Science and Technologies was established in1986 in the Northern part of Jordan. It has 11 faculties including 52 academic departments. Currently, almost 4000 student are enrolled in the engineering faculty. There are 150 Faculty members in the faculty of engineering. JUST has recently developed an Energy Centre in collaboration KTH with of TEMPUS project (JEP-30057-2002).The mission of the Energy Center at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) is dedicated to improving energy sustainability through programs intended to support energy efficiency, renewable energy and environmental protection. The Energy Center provides objective research, information, consultations and education on energy issues to different industries, professionals, policy makers and the public.

Mutah University is a public institution established in 1981 in the southern part of Jordan to qualify graduate for local and national market. It has twelve faculties of different disciplines, with a the total number of students at 18000  and it offers Bachelor, Master and PhD programs . The faculty of Engineering has 5 departments including 13 different programs with a total number of students around 3000 and  90 faculty members, mostly PhD holders. The department of Mechanical Engineering is in the process of offering a Master degree programme in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, which is supported by Tempus.

The Hashemite University was established in 1991 a four-year coeducational institution committed to excellence in teaching and research. TUB is one of the largest technical universities with the highest proportion of foreign students in Germany. TUB courses are designed to be interdisciplinary, with a global perspective to reach out beyond the usual boundaries of the engineering disciplines. The TU Berlin is an internationally acclaimed university distinguished by its research and teaching excellence. The Institute for Machine Tools and Factory Management (IWF) at the TU Berlin coordinates the GPE Solar Master’s program. Its laboratory offers a wide range of manufacturing facilities for learning first-hand about manufacturing and assembly, quality and automation e.g. by operating machine tools and robots and developing products in virtual reality. GPE runs highly specialized learning labs for renewable energy, covering topics of principles of renewable energy, network integration, design and manufacturing of photovoltaic components and systems as well as solar thermal systems.

UNED is one of the largest Spanish Universities and is devoted to distance learning and continuous education. UNED is one of the largest universities on Europe with about 220,000 students and near 2,500 teachers and researchers and 2,500 administrative staff and around 7,000 second-level tutors. UNED delivers degrees on most disciplines including Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Philology, Humanities, Arts. UNED delivers many open courses for continuous education. UNED is the only Spanish University of National scope and distributed over Spain. The DIEEC is the UNED's Department which attends teaching in the Industrial Engineering School and in the Computer Science School. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has a total staff of 30 people and offer teaching in disciplines that include electronics, automatic control, telematics and computer science.
  
With over 700 years of history and 145,000 students Sapienza, founded in 1303 by Pope Boniface VIII, is the first University in Rome and the largest University in Europe. Sapienza has over 4,500 professors and  almost 5,000 administrative and technical staff. Sapienza offers over 300 degree programmes and 250 first and second level specialised qualifications. Students from other  regions are over 30,000. Foreign students are over 7,000. Incoming and outgoing Erasmus students are about 1,000 per year.
CIRPS is an Interuniversity Research Centre, department of Sapienza University, counting 11 Universities and 300 professors, researchers and experts and with high-level specialisation not belonging to the academic world. CIRPS’s activities are aimed at conducting research, developing and disseminating scientific knowledge, technological solutions and working methods, including organisation and social life that can allow sustainable development.

UCY is the leading research University in Cyprus that aspires to promote scholarship and education standards of excellence through teaching and research. UCY is currently managing competitive research funds that exceed the 50 million Euro mark. The Electric Drives and Machines Institute at Graz University of Technology has a long-standing tradition of research into the design and analysis of inverter-fed electric drive systems, for a wide range of applications. Prof. Muetze, who had worked previously in Germany, the US, and the UK, became head of the institute in April 2010, further directing the institute into an international network of research and development activities.  The new leadership also brought forth the construction of a new, modern laboratory building for research and teaching activities.
